About the Role

Monarch Education are working with a secondary school in Weston-super-Mare who are seeking a committed Science Teacher to join their team from September.
\n
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Science Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop curiosity, confidence and a strong understanding of scientific concepts. The successful candidate will be able to plan and deliver high-quality lessons across biology, chemistry and physics, create a positive classroom environment, and support students of varying abilities to make strong progress.

Key Duties
\n
\n - Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
\n * Teach biology, chemistry and physics in line with the school curriculum
\n * Create a positive, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment
\n * Use a range of teaching strategies to support pupils of different abilities
\n * Assess, monitor and record pupil progress effectively
\n * Prepare students for assessments and GCSE examinations where required
\n * Promote curiosity, practical enquiry and confidence in science learning
\n * Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
\n * Work collaboratively with the wider Science department and teaching staff
\n * Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school procedures at all times
\n * Contribute positively to the wider school community \n
\n
Skills & Personal Qualities
\n
\n - Strong subject knowledge across Science
\n * Confident teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils
\n * Ability to deliver engaging, well-structured and practical lessons
\n * Excellent classroom management and communication skills
\n * Positive, professional and proactive approach
\n * Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
\n * Committed to raising attainment and supporting pupil progress
\n * Flexible, organised and reliable
\n * Calm and consistent when managing behaviour
\n * Passionate about inspiring young people through science \n
\n
Experience & Requirements
\n
\n - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent teaching qualification
\n * Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting
\n * Ability to teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
\n * Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and GCSE requirements
\n * Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
\n * Right to work in the UK
\n * Willingness to complete required registration, compliance and safeguarding checks
