Julias House is not a typical childrens hospice. We provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition providing frequent and regular support in their own homes in the community or at our hospices.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Bank Housekeeper to join our team of Hospice Support Staff in Devizes. With a can-do attitude and the ability to work on their own initiative the successful candidate will help ensure the Hospice is always clean and welcoming for the children families visitors and staff providing cover when needed to support the smooth running of the service.
Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience of working in a healthcare environment and who is familiar with infection control procedures. This is a physically demanding role involving regular movement around the Hospice standing for periods of time and carrying out cleaning and housekeeping tasks to a high standard.
As a bank role hours will be offered on a flexible as-needed basis to provide cover for planned and unplanned absence busy periods and service needs. Ideally the successful candidate will initially be covering a planned absence working 17.5hours per week in the afternoon/evenings for 4-6 weeks. However going forwards hours will vary and may includemornings or the occasional evenings and weekends.
If you have a calm and helpful manner; are adaptable reliable and able to work with sensitivity; and have a genuine passion to see Julias House succeed then this could be the role for you.
