Are you a calm, supportive and experienced Pastoral Support professional looking for flexible school-based work from September? We are looking to hear from reliable candidates who are interested in supporting schools across Cheltenham on a supply basis.

About the Role
\n
Monarch Education are working with a range of schools across Cheltenham who require dependable Pastoral Support staff to provide cover and additional pupil support from September.
\n
This position would suit a confident pastoral, behaviour or student support professional who can build positive relationships quickly and support pupils with their wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and engagement in school. You may be supporting students on a one-to-one basis, working from a pastoral office, helping with behaviour incidents, liaising with teaching staff, or assisting with attendance and safeguarding procedures. Supply work may include day-to-day cover, short-term assignments, or longer-term placements depending on school requirements.

Key Duties
\n
\n - Provide pastoral support to pupils across school settings in Cheltenham
\n * Support pupils with social, emotional, behavioural and wellbeing needs
\n * Build positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff and families where appropriate
\n * Respond calmly and consistently to behaviour incidents in line with school policies
\n * Encourage pupils to engage positively with learning and school routines
\n * Support attendance, punctuality and reintegration where required
\n * Work closely with teachers, pastoral leads, SEN staff and safeguarding teams
\n * Record and communicate relevant behaviour, wellbeing or safeguarding information accurately
\n * Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for pupils
\n * Maintain professional standards and follow school safeguarding procedures
\n * Adapt quickly to different school settings across Cheltenham \n
\n

\n - Calm, patient and resilient approach when supporting young people
\n * Strong communication and relationship-building skills
\n * Confident supporting pupils with behaviour, attendance, SEMH or wellbeing needs
\n * Able to remain professional and consistent in challenging situations
\n * Flexible and adaptable when working in different school environments
\n * Good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries
\n * Organised and able to record information clearly and accurately
\n * Positive, proactive and pupil-focused approach
\n * Able to work well as part of a wider pastoral, teaching or safeguarding team
\n * Reliable, punctual and committed to supporting positive outcomes for pupils \n
\n
Experience & Requirements
\n
\n - Previous experience in pastoral support, behaviour support, youth work, mentoring, safeguarding, SEN, SEMH, PRU, alternative provision, care, coaching or a similar role
\n * Experience working with children or young people in an education or support setting
\n * Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a calm, firm and fair manner
\n * Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and professional boundaries
\n * Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff and parents/carers where required
\n * Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
\n * Right to work in the UK
\n * Willingness to complete required registration, compliance and safeguarding checks
