Our colleagues at Five mobility are a market leading supplier of Bariatric and specialist equipment, specialising in beds, mattresses, seating, toileting, and hoisting equipment for acute, community, long term, and home care.

Five Mobility is built on years of extensive care and specialist knowledge in the sector with a valued and customer supporting consultative approach to ensure patients have the right equipment to meet their needs and care teams are equipped to deliver safe and comfortable care to all patients.


Reporting to the Team Leader and National Operations Manager, the Rental Technician will provide support to the Liverpool area and regional team by delivering, collecting, and providing appropriate training on medical devices as part of the service offered to a wide range of Customers including NHS, Social & Long-Term Care and Private individuals. This is a full-time role, and the Rental Technician will be required to participate in an on-call rota.


The successful candidates will ensure all equipment and products are serviceable, prepared and maintained to a high standard and ensure equipment/product is available as and when requested. They will be responsible for reporting any challenges to the team leader and assisting with implement resolution to ensure delivery of a high-quality service to all customers and clients.


The role can be physically demanding as duties will include lifting mattresses, loading and fault trouble shooting and may require working in confined and limited spaces.

Key tasks and accountabilities associated with the role are as follows:

Deliver/install and provide 'in service instruction' on all equipment ensuring equipment is fully functional and users are aware of operating and emergency procedures.

Collect used equipment from customers premises ensuring this is processed in accordance with the company's infection control procedures.

Respond to breakdowns in the field and exchange faulty products, where required, and complete all necessary documentation.

Report all service-related issues to Line Manager and complete any necessary documentation to record fault.

Ensure all jobs/works are completed either via electronic device or hard copy, liaising with the Office where necessary.

As and when required, assist and support laundry activities to ensure that rental products undergo full decontamination, service, and maintenance procedures.

This list is not exhaustive and the postholder will be expected to undertake other duties for which the postholder is suitably qualified and experienced to undertake.


Applicants should possess experience of delivery and/or installations along with experience gained in medical devices/healthcare environment. A DBS and background check will be required (company funded and supported).

It is important the successful candidates can prioritise work and amend route plans accordingly, be positive and have a team orientated approach. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and have a good knowledge of assigned regions geographical area.

Applicants should be methodical, logical and demonstrate a practical approach and possess the ability to work under own initiative, multitask, and achieve deadlines.


The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and people skills, capable of building strong relationships with team members and customers alike and be IT literate with proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and possess a UK driving licence.
