The Role
As a Disability Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with physical disabilities and additional needs
- Support students to access lessons, school facilities and the wider curriculum
- Promote independence, confidence and self-advocacy
- Assist with mobility and physical access where required
- Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, pastoral staff and external professionals
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships that help students thrive academically, socially and emotionally

We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children, young people or adults with disabilities or additional needs
- Backgrounds in education, care, healthcare, occupational therapy support, physiotherapy support or personal assistance are highly desirable
- Calm, caring and patient individuals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to promoting independence
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
Qualifications in Health & Social Care, Education, Psychology or related fields are welcomed but not essential.
