Personal Development Coach, Paston Sixth Form College

37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time + 4 weeks)

£30,941 per annum pro rata, £27,295 per annum actual

Are you passionate about helping young people realise their potential? Do you have the enthusiasm, confidence and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students aged 16–19? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Personal Development Coach to join our dedicated team on a full-time basis at Paston Sixth Form College in North Walsham. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in shaping the personal, social and academic development of our learners, supporting them to thrive both in college and beyond.

As a Personal Development Coach, you will work closely with students, teaching staff and support teams to deliver a high-quality pastoral and tutorial programme that promotes wellbeing, resilience, confidence and personal growth.

You will be responsible for building positive relationships with learners and encouraging them to engage fully in college life. Most of our students are aged 16–19, so the ability to communicate effectively with young people, inspire trust and create meaningful connections is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

•Delivering engaging and interactive group tutorial sessions on a range of relevant and contemporary topics from our personal development framework.

• Providing pastoral support, guidance and encouragement to students as they navigate their college journey.

• Conducting one-to-one tutorials, helping students set ambitious goals, monitor progress and overcome barriers to learning.

• Supporting student wellbeing by signposting learners to specialist college services when appropriate.

• Working collaboratively with curriculum teams to promote personal development and identify students who may benefit from additional support.

• Contributing to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and able to succeed.

This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people at a pivotal stage of their development.

We offer:

• Comprehensive training and support to help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the role.

• Excellent opportunities for collaboration with our cross site Personal Development Network.

• A highly rewarding role where you can have a lasting impact on students' confidence, wellbeing and future aspirations.

• The opportunity to work at one of the most beautiful campus settings in Norfolk with an incredibly supportive staff team.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine passion for supporting and empowering young people.

• Can engage, motivate and build positive relationships with students aged 16–19.

• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Is approachable, empathetic and able to provide effective pastoral support.

• Can work collaboratively as part of a wider student support and curriculum team.

• Is committed to promoting student academic success, wellbeing and personal development.

Experience working with young people in an educational, training, youth work or support setting would be advantageous; however, we welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

If you are looking for a fulfilling role where you can inspire young people, help them overcome challenges and support them in achieving their goals, we would be delighted to receive your application.
