The Opportunity: Corporate Tax Manager

Based within the Cheadle / Greater Manchester area with a flexible hybrid working arrangement you will become a key member of a nationally integrated Tax Consultancy team.

You will combine technical excellence with team leadership client relationship management and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical review of complex corporation tax computations and returns
• Deliver and support a wide range of corporate tax compliance and advisory projects
• Provide proactive tax planning advice for owner-managed businesses groups and corporate clients
• Manage a portfolio of clients ensuring exceptional service delivery and commercial performance
• Oversee work in progress recoverability and billing across your client portfolio
• Liaise directly with clients Partners and colleagues across multiple service lines
• Identify advisory opportunities and support wider business development initiatives
• Provide technical guidance mentoring and coaching to:
  • Tax Assistants
  • Tax Seniors
  • Assistant Tax Managers
• Deliver internal training sessions and support technical development across the team
• Participate in recruitment activities including graduate and experienced hire programmes
• Undertake formal line management responsibilities for junior team members

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a commercially minded Corporate Tax specialist with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for developing people.

Essential Requirements

• CTA qualified
• 5 years UK Practice experience in Corporate Tax Compliance and Advisory
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients
• Strong technical knowledge of:
  • Corporation Tax
  • Group Structures
  • Capital Allowances
  • Tax Planning
  • Corporate Tax Compliance
  • HMRC regulations and current legislation
• Experience reviewing complex tax computations and returns
• Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Strong leadership mentoring and coaching abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work across multiple projects and deadlines effectively
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Requirements

• Experience using Alphatax
• Exposure to corporate restructuring transactions and advisory projects
• Experience supporting business development and winning new work
• Previous involvement in recruitment and people management
