Finance Officer

Salary: £37,973

Location: Swansea Office and hybrid working from home

Hours: 35 hours

This post is permanent

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will provide a full financial management accounting service for this well-established charity organisation.

Experienced in all aspects of SME organisation finances, you will be well versed in monthly accounts preparation, providing timely information and delivering tight financial control over operations.

This post would suit a seasoned professional looking to utilise their skills within a charity framework or an individual with experience in organisation finances, who is looking for a career move up to manage the full function.

Ideally you will have:

  • An accounting qualification, however experience is of equal value.
  • Experience of all accounting functions within a SME or charity/similar organisation purchase matching, BACS payroll, monthly accounts preparation, petty cash management etc.
  • Experience of meeting accounting deadlines and setting priorities for yourself and others
  • Experience of using SAGE/IRIS/Quickbooks or similar accounting package and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience of drafting management financial information, and meaningful reporting of variances to Chief Executive/Trustee Board
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Self-reliant, ability to prioritise workload and able to problem solve independently
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles
  • The ability to commit to, and work within, the aims, principles and policies of Swansea Women’s Aid

SWA are committed to quality assurance programmes throughout all of their activities and have been recognised as such by external awards including the National Quality Service Standards from Welsh Women’s Aid and the Disability Confident Award.

As in any organisation prudent financial management is key to success, but it can be argued that it is even more important in a charity context. This is an opportunity to join a professional team utilising your experience to make a real difference to Swansea Women’s Aid and to the lives of women and children in Swansea experiencing VAWDASV.

SWA value diversity and are committed to promoting equality. They encourage applications from women from all backgrounds and communities – Black, Asian, LGTBQ+ or other ethnic minority backgrounds and people with a disability.

SWA particularly welcome applications from Welsh speaking candidates.

Under the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1, this role is a woman only post.

Byddai'r swydd hon yn addas i weithiwr proffesiynol profiadol sy'n dymuno defnyddio ei sgiliau o fewn y sector elusennol, neu unigolyn sydd â phrofiad ym maes cyllid sefydliadol ac sy'n chwilio am gam ymlaen yn ei yrfa i reoli'r swyddogaeth gyllid gyfan.

  • Y gallu i weithio'n annibynnol, blaenoriaethu llwyth gwaith a datrys problemau ar eich liwt eich hun.
  • Dealltwriaeth gadarn o egwyddorion cyfrinachedd a diogelu data.
  • Y gallu i ymrwymo i nodau, egwyddorion a pholisïau Cymorth fenywod Abertawe, a gweithio yn unol â hwy.

Mae Cymorth Menywod Abertawe wedi bod yn darparu gwasanaethau deinamig ac arloesol ers dros 50 mlynedd i fenywod a phlant sy'n profi trais yn erbyn menywod, cam-drin domestig a thrais rhywiol (VAWDASV) yn Abertawe. Fel mewn unrhyw sefydliad, mae rheolaeth ariannol ddoeth yn allweddol i lwyddiant, ond gellir dadlau ei bod hyd yn oed yn bwysicach yng nghyd-destun elusen. Mae hwn yn gyfle i ymuno â'n tîm proffesiynol a defnyddio eich profiad i wneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol i Cymorth Menywod Abertawe ac i fywydau menywod a phlant yn Abertawe sy'n profi VAWDASV.
