The Role\n
\n- Serve as Emergency Veterinarian - Medical Director within a 24/7 emergency and critical-care hospital.\n
\n- Lead clinical standards and protocols; participate in daily rounds and oversee case flow from intake through discharge.\n
\n- Perform emergency exams, triage, stabilization and ICU management for critical patients.\n
\n- Execute and interpret in-house diagnostics; utilize imaging and endoscopy; perform emergency surgery as indicated.\n
\n- Ensure accurate medical records, prescribe medications and maintain controlled substance compliance.\n
\n- Communicate treatment options, prognoses and cost estimates clearly and compassionately with clients.\n
\n- Mentor and support veterinarians and technicians; promote teamwork, efficiency and a positive hospital culture.\n
\n- Collaborate closely with hospital leadership on priorities, training and continuous quality improvement.\n
\n
Requirements\n
\n- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution\n
\n- Active Colorado veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)\n
\n- DEA registration (or eligibility)\n
\n- Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency practice\n
\n- Proficiency in emergency diagnostics and surgical procedures; strong clinical judgment and client communication\n
\n- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-centered environment\n
\n- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work a schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays\n
\n- Eligibility to work in the United States\n
