Job description

Do you have a passion for supporting young children with Special Educational Needs? Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a lasting impact during the most important stages of a child's development?

Protocol Education is recruiting EYFS SEN Support Assistants to work across private nurseries and Nursery and Reception classes within mainstream primary schools. We have a range of full-time, part-time, long-term and daily supply opportunities available for caring, patient and enthusiastic individuals.

You'll play a vital role in helping young children develop their communication, confidence, independence and love of learning through nurturing, play-based support.

Your role may include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for children with additional needs
  • Supporting children within Nursery and Reception classrooms
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and emotional development
  • Delivering engaging, play-based learning activities
  • Working alongside teachers, nursery practitioners and SENCOs to implement individual support plans
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

You may support children with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • ADHD
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Sensory and communication differences

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young children in an EYFS, nursery, childcare or SEN setting
  • Is patient, nurturing and passionate about early childhood development
  • Understands the importance of routine, play and positive relationships
  • Can adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
