About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join the Finance team and play a key role in the day-to-day financial management of the business.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role is responsible for monthly reporting, financial controls, transactional finance oversight, and team leadership. The candidate will be supported by the Finance Assistant, and partner closely with stakeholders across the business.
This is a hands-on position suited to a finance professional who enjoys being close to the operation, improving processes, and ensuring finance delivers accurate, timely, and meaningful information to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, VAT returns, fixed asset accounting, cash flow reporting, variance analysis, and the preparation of management reports and performance insights.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls, statutory requirements, internal policies, and group reporting standards while supporting annual audit activities.
• Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, cash management, and the maintenance of efficient and accurate financial processes.
• Partner closely with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, business planning, cost control, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, process improvements, increased profitability, and stronger business performance.
• Build strong relationships across the organisation and communicate financial information clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls, improve processes, increase automation, and enhance reporting capabilities.
Requirements
We are Looking for:
- 2-3+ years’ experience within a Management Accountant or similar role
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) – preferred, open for candidates who will be taking their exams soon
- Previous experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or product-based environments is preferred
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles, month-end reporting, and financial controls
- ERP system experience
- Solid Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data effectively
- Confident and accountable personality, with the ability to take ownership and make decisions
- Strong relationship-building skills, collaborative and approachable
- Organised and detail-oriented specialist committed to delivering accurate, timely work
- Proactivity and focus on improvements, with a desire to challenge processes constructively
