About the Role

We are seeking a caring and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school, working within a specialist Autism Provision. You'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs, working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to provide tailored support that enables every pupil to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) within the specialist provision and mainstream classroom where appropriate.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and communication development through personalised learning strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) and support targeted interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent and appropriate behaviour management techniques.
  • Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and engagement in learning and daily school activities.
  • Adapt learning resources and classroom activities to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Patient, caring, and committed to helping every child succeed.
  • A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Calm, adaptable, and proactive in responding to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.

Why Apply?

  • Full-time opportunity within a welcoming and inclusive school.
  • A rewarding role supporting pupils’ educational experience.
  • Access to training and professional development opportunities.
  • Refer a Friend scheme – earn up to £150 collectively.
