Office Manager – Secondary School – Blackpool Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale A successful secondary school in Blackpool is seeking an experienced and highly organised Office Manager to lead its busy administration team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident administrator who enjoys leading people, improving processes and ensuring the school office delivers an efficient and professional service to students, parents and staff. Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the school office while ensuring all administrative systems operate effectively. You will lead a dedicated team of administrators, coordinate key school processes and contribute to the continued success of a welcoming and ambitious secondary school. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, leadership experience and a commitment to delivering outstanding administrative support. School Information This is an 11 to 18 secondary school that is committed to providing an ambitious and inclusive education where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. The school has developed a strong reputation for high standards, excellent pastoral care and positive relationships between students and staff. Support staff play an integral role in the success of the school and are highly valued across every department. Administration Team The Administration Team is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the school while providing excellent service to students, families and visitors. As Office Manager, your responsibilities will include: Managing the daily operation of the school office. Leading and supporting the administration team. Overseeing admissions and pupil administration. Maintaining the school's Management Information System. Coordinating communication with parents and external agencies. Supporting recruitment administration and onboarding processes. Monitoring office budgets and ordering supplies. Preparing reports for senior leaders and governors. Reviewing and improving administrative procedures. Ensuring GDPR compliance across office systems. Coordinating administrative support for school events. Providing operational support to the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will become a key member of the school's leadership support team, helping ensure the school continues to operate efficiently while delivering excellent service to the wider community. Requirements Previous experience managing a busy school office. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience using school Management Information Systems. Good Microsoft Office skills. Ability to manage competing priorities. High attention to detail. Professional and approachable manner.
