Job description
Every school needs someone who takes pride in keeping everything running smoothly. From ensuring the site is safe and secure to carrying out essential maintenance, this role plays a vital part in creating the best possible environment for pupils and staff. A well-regarded primary school in Fulham is seeking a Caretaker / Site Supervisor to join the team from September 2026 on a long-term temporary contract. The school is flexible and can consider candidates looking for either a full-time position or a three-day working week , making this an excellent opportunity for experienced site professionals seeking greater flexibility. Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented site is a priority, and the premises team is recognised as an important part of the wider school community. Staff enjoy a collaborative working environment where everyone works together to ensure the school operates efficiently each day. The Role The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of the school site, helping to ensure the premises remain safe, secure, and well maintained. Key responsibilities include: Opening and securing the school site when required Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs Completing routine health and safety checks Ensuring the school grounds are clean and well presented Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the premises About You Previous experience working as a school caretaker, site supervisor, site assistant, or facilities professional is essential. The school is looking for someone who is dependable, practical, and able to work independently while taking ownership of the school site. A proactive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards are key.
