Job description
Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale The Role A progressive Secondary School in Dorchester is seeking a professional, highly analytical, and exceptionally organised Design & Technology Teacher to join their prominent STEM faculty. This is a premier opportunity to step into a heavily funded department where software design engineering, material manipulation, and computational thinking are championed across all key stages. The successful candidate will deliver a dynamic and challenging timetable across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The curriculum covers structural systems, workshop mechanics, materials science, and computer-aided design (CAD) at GCSE, alongside advanced modules in product engineering architecture, industrial manufacturing parameters, material fatigue analysis, and graphic verification frameworks at A-Level. Beyond standard lessons, you will be expected to construct precise student tracking portfolios, update secure school databases, manage hardware lab asset logs, and actively coordinate the school's robotics leagues and engineering design societies. You will support crisp communication with parents, external examination boards, and local technology networks, ensuring all practical manufacturing projects and theoretical exam logs are processed with total accuracy. Strong administrative skills are a prerequisite to balancing fast-paced practical workshop setups with systematic health and safety verification records.
