This is a remote position.

Financial Inclusion Officer 4 Month Contract

Location: Remote Working
Rate: 22.34 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary (4 Months)
Hours: Full-Time
Pay: Bi-weekly

Summary


The Financial Inclusion Officer is a temporary four-month position dedicated to supporting residents facing complex financial challenges. This role is crucial in alleviating financial hardship enhancing income maintaining housing stability and fostering long-term financial resilience. Working within the Income and Awards Service the officer will manage a diverse caseload providing advice advocacy and referrals to specialized services. The role involves engaging with vulnerable households to develop solutions that bolster financial stability and mitigate homelessness risks. Additionally the officer will have supervisory duties and contribute to broader financial inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities


  • Financial Inclusion Support
    • Identify and assist households requiring financial intervention.
    • Provide non-judgmental support to residents facing financial difficulties.
    • Guide residents through changes in welfare benefits and financial situations.
    • Facilitate access to financial assistance and support services.
  • Income Maximisation
    • Help customers maximize household income through various benefits and grants.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce expenses and enhance financial stability.
  • Housing & Homelessness Prevention
    • Support housing sustainability and prevent homelessness through early intervention.
    • Collaborate with housing providers and support agencies to maintain accommodation.
  • Partnership Working
    • Collaborate with partner agencies like Citizens Advice Debt Advice Services and others.
    • Ensure customers are connected to appropriate support services.
  • Case Management
    • Manage a complex caseload develop action plans and monitor progress.
    • Maintain accurate records of interventions and customer interactions.
  • Grants & Financial Assistance
    • Assess and recommend hardship funding applications.
    • Administer discretionary grants and financial support schemes.
  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Maintain case management systems and collect performance data.
    • Produce reports and contribute to service performance improvements.
  • Community Engagement & Training
    • Participate in workshops and community sessions to raise awareness of financial inclusion services.
    • Attend training and share best practices across teams.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Essential
    • Experience supporting individuals with financial hardship.
    • Experience managing complex caseloads in a target-driven environment.
    • Knowledge of welfare benefits Universal Credit and financial inclusion services.
    • Strong partnership-working and customer support experience.
    • GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
    • Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Desirable
    • Previous experience in local authority or council settings.
    • Experience in Revenues & Benefits Welfare Support Financial Inclusion Housing or Debt Advice.
    • Experience administering hardship funds or discretionary grants.
    • Understanding of homelessness prevention and discretionary grant schemes.
