Job description

A friendly primary school in Fulham is looking to appoint a Caretaker / Site Manager on a long-term temporary contract, starting in September 2026. The school is happy to consider candidates looking for either full-time hours or a three-day-per-week position, offering flexibility for the right person. The leadership team values the important contribution of its support staff and understands the vital role a well-maintained school site plays in the day-to-day success of the school. Staff work collaboratively and take pride in creating a positive environment for pupils, colleagues, and visitors alike. The Role The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring it remains safe, secure, clean, and well maintained. Responsibilities will include: Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs Managing the security of the school site Monitoring health and safety procedures Ensuring the buildings and grounds are well presented Liaising with contractors where required Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school The Successful Candidate The school is looking for someone with previous school caretaking or site management experience who is reliable, proactive, and takes pride in maintaining high standards. A practical, hands-on approach, good organisational skills, and an understanding of health and safety are essential. Please note: The successful candidate will need to complete the school's pre-employment compliance checks before interview. This includes obtaining references from the most recent employer and a previous employer, so applicants must be happy for these references to be requested as part of the recruitment process.
