Job description
Facilities Project Manager | Milton Keynes | Up to £50,000 | PermanentThe Opportunity

If you're looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a diverse range of facilities projects while helping shape the future direction of a growing Facilities function, this is the kind of role that offers genuine influence from day one.

As a newly created position within a growing engineering and manufacturing environment, you'll play a key role in delivering facilities improvement projects across a large and complex operational site. With business growth driving increased project activity, this role has been introduced to provide dedicated project management capability and support the continued development of facilities operations.

You'll be responsible for managing projects ranging from office developments and infrastructure upgrades through to larger capital improvement works, working closely with production teams, contractors, procurement, and senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

This is more than a traditional project management position. Alongside delivering projects, you'll have the opportunity to improve planned maintenance processes, streamline ways of working, and help move facilities operations from a reactive to a more proactive approach.

With a constant pipeline of improvement initiatives and investment across the site, you'll join a team where your contribution will have a visible impact on both operational performance and the wider business.

Facilities Project Manager Responsibilities

Project Delivery: Managing facilities-related projects from initial scope and contractor engagement through to successful delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Stakeholder Management: Working closely with Production, Procurement, Facilities teams, contractors, and senior stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver successful project outcomes.

Contractor Coordination: Obtaining quotations, reviewing proposals, coordinating suppliers, and overseeing contractor-led works across the site.

Planned Maintenance Improvement: Supporting planned maintenance activities, improving record keeping, and helping develop more effective maintenance processes and systems.

Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve facilities operations, maintenance planning, and project delivery processes while supporting wider departmental objectives.

Ideal Facilities Project Manager

Facilities Management Experience: Experience working within a Facilities Management environment, including exposure to planned maintenance activities and contractor management.

Project Delivery Experience: Experience delivering facilities projects within an operational, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment.

Coordination & Organisation: Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and site requirements simultaneously.

Stakeholder Engagement: Comfortable communicating with individuals at all levels, from operational teams through to senior business leaders.

Problem Solving & Initiative: Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to identify opportunities for improvement within a busy operational environment.

Hours: 37-hour working week
