We arecurrently seeking a Prosthetist who is looking for an opportunity to developtheir career at our service based in Roehampton. Workingalongside a large team of clinicians, the role will involve working with acomplex clinical case load and will be instrumental in developing andimplementing service improvements for the betterment of patients in Roehampton. Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities: Ensure the delivery of high quality care for allpatients and the smooth running of the service. Working closely with MDTs. Inputting and leading on initiatives within the service development plan. Conduct comprehensive assessment of patients to determine their orthoticneeds. Develop and implement personalised orthotic treatment plans. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in orthotic technology andpractices. Provide excellent patient care, education, and support throughout thetreatment process. Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, suppling, reviewing andadjusting orthoses as required. Maintaining appropriate clinical notes. Skills & Experience: A minimum of 3 years work experience. Demonstrated experience of complex casework inadult and paediatric care. Self-starter with a flexible and pro‑activeapproach. Ability to build strong working relationshipsthrough effective verbal and written communication. Job responsibilities Job Summary: The role holder will be an integral member of the senior clinical teamand will provide mentoring support to less experienced prosthetists, graduates,and students. The prosthetic department at Queen Marys Hospital consists of a largeMDT including prosthetists, orthotists, consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a psychologist and wider referring teams. The roleholder will be instrumental in working closely with the prosthetic team toadvance and improve the delivery of the service. At Roehampton, there is an emphasis on putting the patient first and a focus on improvingthe lives of individuals through innovation and service development. In addition to clinical work, the successful candidate will use evidence‑based practice and undertakeclinical audit in line with the requirements of clinical governance. Key Responsibilities & Tasks: Use a range of shape capture methods to successfully fit and deliver prostheses in a timelymanner. Mentor students,graduates and clinical apprentices. Supportless‑experienced colleagues. Treat all userswith dignity keeping them informed on their prosthetic treatment and the basisfor actions/advice. Leadby example and ensure the prosthetic clinical team is engaged with, andmotivated to achieve, any patient and business‑led objectives in place. Support and assistthe clinical lead and assistant clinical lead with reporting tasks as required. Support the teamto meet all KPI targets set throughout the year. To liaise with the Workshop Manager to address identified quality problems and assist in providingeffective solutions, thus minimizing unnecessary wastage. Use IT systemssuch as REHAPP to correctly record patient details and to processorders/deliveries. Agree objectiveswith your manager and report regularly on progress. Practice withinthe code of ethics and guidelines of the HCPC. Participate incontinuing professional development and ensure your CPD portfolio ismaintained. Participate inclinical audit. The successful candidate will join anenthusiastic and busy team, and be supported with local, regional, and nationaltraining to develop their clinical skills to support the service. Skills & Personal Attributes: The position requires the job holder topossess: Proven practicalexperience working successfully as a Prosthetist with all levels of limbdifference. Upper limbexperience preferred but not essential. Committed to thehighest standards of patient care. Proven experienceof working within high performing, collaborative teams. Ability to buildand maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally. Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills. Diplomatic butalso assertive as required. Able toprioritise, plan and organise efficiently and work with multiple conflictingpriorities. Robust judgementand ability to make sound decisions quickly and effectively in complexsituations.
