Job description
Closing date: 7th August 2026 Social Care Coordinator– Landau Overview We are a charity committed to supporting people with learning and other needs. This permanent role is based in Newstead, Stoke and offers a salary of £30,900 – £36,050 per annum. You will coordinate the day‑to‑day activities of our social adult day care programme, work with team staff and volunteers, and contribute to programme development and community outreach. Key responsibilities * Coordinate and manage the day‑to‑day activities of the social adult day care programme * Plan and programme the timetable for the academic year * Oversee intake and assessment of new participants, developing individualised care or service plans * Supervise and support programme staff and volunteers * Monitor participant progress and well‑being, addressing concerns in collaboration with carers and medical professionals * Be the first point of contact for parents or carers, maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, risk assessments, care plans and progress notes * Monitor the quality and timely completion of learners PCP reviews * Assist in programme evaluation and quality improvement efforts * Participate in consistent learning walks at least once per term for every tutor * Ensure staff complete thorough inductions * Promote the programme within the community to increase awareness and enrolment * Plan key events and key dates across the year, taking a lead on event organisation * Work as part of the wider Landau management team, providing reports and management information, filling in for other coordinators where required * Provide flexible support and cover where reasonably required to maintain service standards and continuity * Monitor and review the MIS system Arbour, liaising with the QA team for updates and reviews * Regularly review staff CPD, develop mechanisms for the identification, dissemination and sharing of good practice across the study programme delivery team * Act as designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) * Undertake any other duties as reasonably required Skills and core competencies * Health and social care qualification at level 4 or above (essential) * Train the trainer (desirable) * Designated Safeguarding Officer training (desirable) Experience * Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role (essential) * Extensive experience managing a team (essential) * Experience working with adults with learning difficulties (essential) * Excellent knowledge of CQC expectations (desirable) Skills and attributes * People‑orientated * Interest in energising and engaging people * Non‑judgemental and trustworthy * Highly organised * Emotional intelligence * Conscientious and professional * Reliable delivery of excellent results * Commitment to learning * Creative problem‑solving * Effective time management and high standards * Maintain effective and organised administration systems Personal qualities, communicating and relating to others * Ability to communicate at all levels * Non‑judgemental and trustworthy * Persistence and perseverance * Emotional intelligence * Self‑awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses, actively investing in personal and professional development Other * Contribute to team and departmental meetings as required * Promote the charity in a positive and professional manner * Provide support to organisational staff and the Charity CEO as required Hours and location 36.5 hours per week – Newstead, Stoke Commitments to diversity and equality We are committed to creating a fair and inclusive workplace.
