Small Works Manager | London | Up to £65,000 + £6,825 Car Allowance + Bonus\n

\nReady to move beyond delivering the work and start shaping how it is delivered? This could be your next step if you are a BMS Service Engineer who has become the person trusted with small works, extra works, remedial or upgrade projects, or a Project Engineer or Project Manager who wants to lead a dedicated small works function.\n
\n
\n You will have ownership of T&M and small works delivery, with the authority to organise engineers, manage customers and protect the commercial performance of each job. Your contribution will be visible, and there is genuine scope to build your career through promotion or lateral movement across a larger organisation.\n

Instead, you will take control of the full delivery process, from labour planning and logistics through to customer communication, invoicing and final handover. You will be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and set a consistent standard for the work delivered.\n

What you will be doing
\n
\nYou will lead the successful delivery of T&M and small works, making sure jobs are completed on time and at the margin agreed when they were sold.\n
\n
Your work will include:\n
\n
\n
    \n
  • Planning engineers, subcontractors, materials and site logistics
    • \n
  • Owning customer escalations and seeing them through to a proper conclusion
    • \n
  • Managing H&S requirements, including risk assessments, method statements and CDM compliance
    • \n
  • Monitoring labour, overtime, supplier costs, warranty issues and project backlog
    • \n
  • Producing accurate order, revenue and labour forecasts
    • \n
  • Making sure commissioning reports, O&M information and invoicing details are issued on time
    • \n
  • Supporting delivery across BMS platforms, including Trend, Tridium, Siemens and Distech
    • \n
You will work closely with operations, finance, administration, sales, procurement and the helpdesk, giving you a much broader view of how the business operates than a purely site-based engineering role.\n

What you will bring\n

\nYou will need:\n

  • Strong technical experience with BMS controls and building automation systems
    • \n
  • Experience delivering small projects, extra works or BMS project packages
    • \n
  • The confidence to manage customers, engineers, suppliers and commercial priorities
    • \n
  • A practical understanding of H&S, project documentation and successful job handover
    • \n
You do not need to have held the Small Works Manager title already. This role could suit an experienced Service Engineer ready to step up, provided you have already taken ownership of extra works or smaller projects.\n
