SEND Teacher
Wakefield
Competitive daily rate, depending on experience
Full-time, long-term opportunities
Looking for a teaching role where you can make a real difference?
In SEND education, the biggest wins aren't always the loudest. Sometimes it's helping a pupil feel safe enough to walk into the classroom. Sometimes it's seeing a child try something they never thought they could.
Those moments matter.
We're looking for caring, adaptable SEND Teachers to work in specialist schools and alternative provisions across Wakefield. You'll support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them grow in confidence as well as in the classroom.
If you enjoy building strong relationships and believe every child deserves the chance to succeed, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
No two days are the same, but you can expect to:
- Plan and deliver lessons that meet individual learning needs
- Adapt teaching for pupils with ASD, SEMH, PMLD and other complex needs
- Build positive relationships where trust comes first
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists and wider school teams
- Create calm, structured classrooms where pupils can thrive
- Support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing
Every child learns differently. Your job is to help them find their way.
