About Avara Foods Avara Foods is one of the UK’s leading food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to the country’s major supermarkets and well-known restaurants. We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door, which gives rise to a variety of career opportunities across all our processing sites in England and our agricultural network spanning over 350 farms from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales. About the Role We are looking for a highly competent and motivated HR Officer to join our site in Caistor, North Lincolnshire. You will work under the guidance of the HR Manager in Derbyshire as part of the Caistor site team, ensuring all people-related aspects of the colleague lifecycle are delivered professionally and in full compliance with legal and company policy, while supporting operational effectiveness. Hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00. Key Responsibilities * Provide appropriate HR advice on key issues, supporting managers in disciplinary, grievance and appeal processes. * Support managers and HR colleagues in change management activities. * Advise and guide on all absence-management cases. * Coordinate with occupational health providers and specialists as required. * Work with department managers to manage headcount, including actual versus planned heads and identifying vacancies. * Collaborate with the resourcing and wider HR team to ensure effective onboarding of new colleagues. * Partner with the HR Shared Services function to support key operational HR activities. * Coach and mentor managers to facilitate regular one-to-one and development reviews. * Help deliver site training provision, identifying training needs and implementing interventions. * Ensure data requirements are fed into the Avara payroll system by agreed deadlines. * Take on ad-hoc project work as needed. Qualifications & Experience * Current or recent experience in an HR role, with up-to-date knowledge of employment law. * CIPD qualified or part-qualified to Level 5. * A high level of personal integrity and the ability to treat others with respect, empathy and honesty. * A methodical, detail-oriented approach with strong prioritisation skills. * Professional and effective conflict-resolution skills. * Confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant HR programmes.
