Level 3 Early Years Practitioner – Sunderland We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming and supportive Early Years setting in Sunderland from August 2026. Staff work collaboratively to provide high‑quality Early Years provision that supports each childs individual development, wellbeing, and independence. As a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting childrens learning and development, working closely with colleagues and families to provide engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is a full‑time, permanent position starting in August 2026. The setting operates between 07:30 and 18:00, with flexibility available around working hours within these operating times. Key Responsibilities * Provide high‑quality care and education for children within the Early Years setting. * Plan and deliver engaging, play‑based learning activities in line with the EYFS framework. * Support childrens communication, language, physical, social, and emotional development. * Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. * Observe, assess, and record childrens progress, contributing to planning and individual next steps. * Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues. * Promote childrens independence, confidence, and wellbeing through positive interactions. * Support daily routines and ensure childrens individual care needs are met. * Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and setting policies are followed at all times. * Work collaboratively as part of the wider Early Years team to provide exceptional provision. Essential Criteria * A minimum recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare – essential. * Candidates who are currently working towards their Level 3 Early Years qualification will be considered, provided the qualification will be completed before August 2026. * A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. * A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. * Flexibility to work full‑time hours within the settings operating hours of 07:30–18:00. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Preferred Criteria * Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting. * Experience supporting babies, toddlers, or preschool‑aged children. * Paediatric First Aid qualification. * Knowledge of child development and effective observation and assessment practices. * Experience planning engaging Early Years activities and learning opportunities.
