Job description

A high-performing secondary school in Bishops Stortford is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Drama Teacher to join its successful teaching team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to delivering outstanding lessons and helping every student reach their full potential. Whether you are an experienced Drama Teacher seeking your next challenge or an Early Career Drama Teacher (ECT) beginning your career, you will be joining a school recognised for its supportive leadership, excellent student behaviour and strong commitment to staff wellbeing and career progression. The Role You will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate. Working alongside a collaborative and experienced department, you will play an important role in maintaining high academic standards while creating an inclusive and inspiring learning environment for all students. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire and challenge students. Teach your specialist subject across KS3 and KS4. Deliver KS5 lessons where appropriate. Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support achievement. Create a positive, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment. Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners. Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and departmental initiatives. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning. Have experience teaching their specialist subject across KS3 and KS4. Be confident teaching KS5 (desirable but not essential). Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for education. Be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills. Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. Have the right to work in the UK.
