Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

As a Field Care Supervisor, your core focus will be to guarantee the delivery of the highest quality care support services. While your role will entail vital office-based administrative work, you will spend the majority of your working time out in the field. Your supervisory duties will include:

  • Assessments, Reviews & QA: Carrying out robust initial risk and needs assessments (in homes or hospital/residential settings). Conducting regular care reviews with clients and families, ensuring care plans remain accurate and person-centred. Carrying out care quality audits, gathering client feedback, reporting findings, and following up on action plans.
  • Team Supervision & Leadership: Providing practical supervision, instruction, and emotional support to frontline Care Assistants. Conducting regular spot checks, supervisions, and competency assessments in service users' homes. Acting as a primary point of contact for care staff.
  • Training & Onboarding: Assisting with the onboarding, induction, and ongoing development of new staff. Shadowing new care workers in the field, identifying training needs, and supporting carers with performance improvement.
  • ️ CQC Compliance & Safeguarding: Monitoring and maintaining CQC compliance, ensuring regulatory standards are met. Supporting the Registered Manager in preparing for CQC inspections and internal audits. Responding to concerns, incidents, and safeguarding matters.
  • ️ Rota Strategy & Operations: Working collaboratively with Care Coordinators to support the planning of realistic, effective care worker rotas. Participating in the on-call rota as required.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Participating actively in multi-disciplinary reviews. Liaising and building positive relationships with service users, families, internal teams, and healthcare professionals.
  • Documentation & Systems: Ensuring accurate and timely documentation using care management systems. Maintaining up-to-date records, including supervision notes, spot check reports, and compliance documentation.
