Job description
Python Developer At-a-Glance Mid to Senior level Python Developer, £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience Hybrid working, 3 days on-site in Belfast City Centre Core stack: Python, FastAPI / Flask, PostgreSQL, pytest Direct client exposure across a diverse client base Exclusive role, you will not find this advertised anywhere else About the Company This is a specialist technology consultancy that puts human intellect and collaboration at the heart of everything it does. The Role This is an opportunity to join a skilled engineering team working on bespoke Python solutions for a diverse client base. You will work directly with clients on architecture and design decisions, so this is a role for someone who communicates as confidently as they code. You will have genuine autonomy, access to new technologies, and the chance to shape how solutions are built and delivered. Key Responsibilities Build and enhance bespoke Python back-end services across a range of client environments Liaise directly with clients on architecture, design and technical decisions Deliver high-quality, best-practice software solutions to specification Work across a range of architectures, tools and frameworks as each project demands Recommend and implement new ideas, tooling and innovations Share knowledge and contribute to team learning Collaborate as part of dynamic, cross-functional delivery teams Produce clean, efficient, well-tested code throughout What You'll Need Essential: 3+ years of Python development experience building back-end services Hands-on experience with FastAPI and/or Flask Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL Experience with automated test frameworks, including pytest Comfortable working with complex datasets Based within commuting distance of Belfast City Centre (3 days on-site required) Desirable / Nice to Have: Experience working in a client-facing or consultancy environment Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) Why Apply? £50,000 - £60,000 salary, depending on experience Hybrid working, 3 days a week in a modern Belfast City Centre office 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Pension contribution and private healthcare Access to new technologies and support to gain certifications Direct client exposure and genuine influence over technical decisions High-performance, low-ego culture where quality is the standard Exclusive role through Ocho People, not advertised elsewhere Next Steps Interested in finding out more?
