Trainee Wine Waiter
Hoar Cross Hall | Staffordshire
Begin your journey into the
world of professional wine service.
At Hoar Cross Hall, we pride
ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences that complement our
award-winning luxury spa resort. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic
Trainee Wine Waiter to join our Food & Beverage team and develop a
rewarding long-term career in wine service.
This is an exciting opportunity
for someone who has a genuine interest in wine and hospitality and is eager to
learn from experienced professionals. Working closely with our Junior Sommelier
and Head of Food & Beverage, you will receive hands-on coaching, mentoring
and practical experience while developing the skills and confidence to deliver
exceptional wine service.
Following the successful
completion of your probationary period, you will begin a structured
development programme designed to support your progression into a specialist
wine role. As part of this programme, Hoar Cross Hall will fully fund your WSET
Level 2 and WSET Level 3 qualifications, alongside a tailored development plan
with clear milestones to help you achieve your career goals.
What you'll be doing
As a Trainee Wine Waiter, you'll
play an important role in delivering memorable dining experiences while
developing your wine knowledge and service expertise. Your responsibilities
will include:
- Assisting with the presentation, service and
promotion of our carefully curated wine selection
- Developing a thorough understanding of our wine
list, grape varieties, wine regions and styles
- Learning to confidently recommend wines and food
pairings that complement our menus and enhance our guests' dining
experience
- Working alongside our Junior Sommelier, Head of
Food & Beverage and wider Food & Beverage team to deliver
exceptional service
- Supporting wine tastings, wine events and
educational sessions as your knowledge and confidence develop
- Promoting featured wines, seasonal selections and
wine-related experiences to our guests
- Continuously developing your knowledge of wines,
service techniques and luxury hospitality standards

passionate about hospitality and excited to build a specialist career in wine
service.

willingness to learn
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal
skills
- Have a proactive approach and the ability to work
well as part of a team
- Have a commitment to providing outstanding customer
service in a luxury hospitality environment
- Having previous hospitality experience would be an
advantage but is not essential. We're far more interested in your
enthusiasm, attitude and desire to learn than your existing wine knowledge.
- Having existing wine qualifications, such as WSET
Level 2, would also be advantageous but are not required.

your future.
