Job description
Workshop Supervisor - Edinburgh We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our operations across Scotland. You’ll oversee workshop and airside teams, ensuring maintenance and service work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of customer service. Shift Pattern Split shifts – 06:00 to 14:30 and 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday. On-call: One week in five, covering 7 days with 2 days off the following week. Flexibility may be required to meet operational needs. The Role To supervise and manage staff both in the workshop and airside. You will be responsible for the management and delegation of day to day operations, adhering to and promoting safe working practices, and ensuring a high quality of customer service. Key Responsibilities Supervise and motivate workshop and mobile teams, managing workloads and performance to meet productivity targets. Promote and enforce safe working practices across all operations Oversee maintenance, repairs, and airside responses in line with SLAs. Maintain accurate documentation, system updates, and technical handovers. Conduct quality checks, coaching and supporting staff where required. Manage tooling, equipment registers, and ISO compliance records. Raise and authorise parts purchase orders in line with policy. Support with performance reviews, attendance management, and disciplinary processes. Deputise for the Operations Manager as needed. Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators Zero accidents Productivity hours across workforce at 85% minimum Quality checks Asset availability and stop days in line with customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Service backlog at or below site target Customer complaints Absence and sickness monitoring/lost hours Performance management Health and Safety Commitment and ISO Compliance Always work safely and responsibly, following all safety rules and procedures. Use PPE and protective devices correctly at all times. Immediately report any accidents, near misses, damage, or unsafe conditions. Cooperate fully with investigations and contribute to continuous safety improvement. Report unsafe or defective tools, equipment, PPE, or working practices immediately. Actively participate in promoting a safe working environment and suggest improvements where appropriate. Comply with the company’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies. Follow Safe Systems of Work in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 management system frameworks. Ensure all documentation and services meet ISO9001 requirements. Correctly segregate and identify waste in accordance with ISO14001 obligations. Report all incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts as per Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.
