Job description
Machine Operator Purpose of the Role Barker Ross is recruiting for an experienced Machine Setter/Operator to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe and high-quality production. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You will work closely with the Shift Leader and Engineering team to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency. Shift - 5am-1pm Mon-Fri pay rate is £15.56 per hour Key Responsibilities Machine Operation · Set up, operate and monitor production machinery to ensure efficient performance. · Prepare machinery for planned production changeovers. · Adjust machine settings for different production runs. · Record production data and machine performance. · Escalate technical or engineering issues in line with company procedures. Maintenance & Troubleshooting · Identify and resolve minor mechanical faults. · Carry out routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication and machine resets. · Perform regular equipment checks to ensure optimal performance. · Complete maintenance handover documentation accurately. · Escalate major breakdowns to the Engineering team.
