Senior Healthcare Assistant – Full-Time (33–44 Hours per Week) Location: Stockton-on-Tees Salary: £13.20 – £13.44 per hour (depending on experience) Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Setting: Purpose-built 46-bed Residential Care Home Overview We are seeking experienced and dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistants to join our team in a modern, purpose-built residential care home located in the Stockton-on-Tees area. The home provides high-quality residential care, dementia care and stroke-related care, supported by a qualified nursing team available 24 hours a day. Our focus is on delivering person-centred care, respecting each resident as an individual and ensuring comfort, dignity and safety at all times. Due to the location, it is desirable to be a driver and have your own transportation. Please note: We are not able to provide sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be able to work full-time. Key Responsibilities Support and assist residents with all aspects of daily living, ensuring the highest possible standards of care. Assist residents with physical, emotional and spiritual needs, promoting independence wherever possible. Provide supervision, guidance and leadership to care staff during shifts. Administer medication safely and accurately in line with training and home policies. Observe, monitor and report changes in residents' wellbeing to nursing staff. Maintain accurate daily records and contribute to individual care plans. Support social activities by engaging with residents and encouraging hobbies and interests. Respond promptly to the Nurse Call system and provide assistance as required. Communicate professionally with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals. Clean and maintain equipment used by residents, such as wheelchairs, hearing aids and spectacles. Ensure confidentiality, safeguarding and health and safety standards are upheld at all times. Requirements for the Role Previous experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant for at least 6 months. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is mandatory for this role. Medication training and competency are required. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to work independently and use own initiative. Strong leadership skills to supervise and guide care activities. Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication. Driving licence and own car are desirable. Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available). Must live locally and be able to commute easily. Qualifications NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (mandatory). Previous experience in a Senior Healthcare Assistant role (mandatory). Care Certificate is desirable. Manual handling training. Medication administration training.
