About the Cover Supervisor Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will gain hands-on classroom experience in secondary schools, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Your responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor will include:
Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
Supporting students across a range of subjects (no specialist subject knowledge required)
Ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absence
Building confidence leading groups of young people
This graduate Cover Supervisor role is one of the best ways to gain paid school experience before applying for PGCE, SCITT, or teacher training programmes.
