Production Scheduler\n

Join a growing UK manufacturer serving the food, construction, life sciences, and temperature-controlled sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Scheduler to play a pivotal role in coordinating production activities, improving factory performance, and ensuring customers receive their orders on time and in full. This role offers onsite parking, hours of work Monday to Friday, early afternoon finish daily, no weekend or evening work!

The Role\n

As Production Scheduler, you'll take ownership of the production plan, balancing customer demand with factory capacity, labour, materials, and resources. Working closely with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Logistics, you'll ensure production schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • Create and maintain short, medium, and long-term production schedules.
  • \n
  • Coordinate workloads across multiple manufacturing departments and work centres.
  • \n
  • Ensure production plans align with material availability, labour resources, and capacity.
  • \n
  • Manage changes to schedules due to shortages, breakdowns, urgent orders, or shifting customer requirements.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate planning data within Business Central and associated scheduling systems.
  • \n
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth production flow and on-time delivery.
  • \n
  • Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvement actions.
  • \n
  • Produce factory efficiency reports covering output, utilisation, downtime, lead times, and delivery performance.
  • \n
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce delays.
  • \n

About You\n

    \n
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or production control within a manufacturing environment.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, materials management, and manufacturing operations.
  • \n
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across office and shop-floor teams.
  • \n
  • Comfortable managing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n

Desirable\n

    \n
  • Experience with Visual Production Scheduler or similar planning software.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • \n
  • Experience within engineered products, modular manufacturing, construction products, doors, panels, refrigeration, or related sectors.
  • \n
