Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Weymouth to recruit a part-time Design & Technology Technician to join their team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical, organised individual who enjoys supporting hands-on learning and helping students thrive in a creative workshop environment. Whether you have experience in education, engineering, manufacturing, construction, or a similar practical setting, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Design & Technology Technician, you will:

• Prepare tools, materials and equipment for practical DT lessons.
• Maintain workshop machinery and equipment in line with health and safety requirements.
• Support teachers during practical lessons when required.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials and resources.
• Keep workshops organised, clean and safe for staff and students.
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs to equipment.
• Help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Design & Technology department.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working with tools, machinery or within a workshop environment.
• Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Be proactive and willing to support both staff and students.
• Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
