Contract Product Manager – Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)

Location: Fully Remote (UK)
Contract: Immediate start until end of June 2027 (with potential extension)

Who We Are

AND Digital are on a mission to close the world's tech skills gap.

We help organisations navigate the future of technology by combining human expertise, emerging technologies and AI to deliver better digital products, stronger teams and lasting capability.

Since 2014, we've worked alongside clients to solve complex business challenges through our unique regional Club model, building long-term partnerships that deliver meaningful outcomes. Today we're over 1,300 people across the UK, Europe and the USA, with ambitious plans for continued growth.

Join us and help shape the future of digital.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Contract Product Manager to join a major digital transformation programme supporting products and services within the UK's Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) landscape.

The programme focuses on improving the digital experience for customers who generate renewable electricity and export surplus energy back to the National Grid. You'll help shape products that simplify customer journeys, improve operational efficiency and support the UK's transition to a smarter, low-carbon energy system.

This is a fully remote contract open to candidates based anywhere in the UK.

Working alongside Engineering, Design, Data and business stakeholders, you'll define product strategy, prioritise delivery and ensure solutions create measurable value for both customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver product vision, strategy and roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
  • Understand customer needs, market trends and regulatory requirements within the renewable energy sector.
  • Own and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring delivery teams remain focused on the highest-value outcomes.
  • Translate customer and business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Architecture, Design and Data teams to deliver scalable digital products.
  • Analyse customer, operational and commercial data to inform prioritisation and product decisions.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders across Product, Operations, Regulatory, Commercial and Customer teams.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Continuously measure product performance using customer insights, KPIs and data to drive ongoing improvements.
  • Balance customer needs, commercial priorities and technical constraints to maximise product value.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager delivering digital products within Agile environments.
  • Strong experience developing product roadmaps and managing complex product backlogs.
  • Experience using customer insights and data to drive product strategy and prioritisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering, Design and Data throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Strong customer-centric mindset with experience in product discovery and problem definition.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance customer outcomes, delivery priorities and business value.
  • Comfortable working within complex, cross-functional delivery teams.

Highly Desirable Experience

  • Experience within the Energy, Utilities or Net Zero sectors.
  • Experience delivering digital products relating to the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), distributed energy, renewable generation or smart energy services.
  • Experience working with products or services involving:
    • Solar PV
    • Electric Vehicles (EV)
    • Battery Storage
    • Wind Energy
    • Hydro Power
    • Anaerobic Digestion
    • Micro-Combined Heat & Power (Micro-CHP)
  • Understanding of customer journeys associated with exporting renewable electricity, smart metering or energy management.
  • Experience working within regulated environments or alongside industry regulations and policy.

Ideal Background

We're particularly interested in Product Managers who have worked within organisations focused on:

  • Energy & Utilities
  • Renewable Energy
  • Net Zero & Sustainability
  • Smart Energy
  • EV Charging & Infrastructure
  • Solar & Distributed Generation
  • Clean Technology (CleanTech)
  • Energy Technology Platforms

The ideal candidate will have experience building customer-focused digital products that simplify complex energy journeys, use data to inform decisions and support the transition to a low-carbon future.

Equal Opportunities

AND Digital is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We will make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process where required.
