Looking for your next primary teaching role in Croydon? We’re working with welcoming local schools looking for a dedicated Primary Teacher to bring energy, creativity, and a love of learning into the classroom.

This role is all about creating engaging lessons, building positive relationships with pupils, and helping children feel confident as they learn and grow. You’ll plan and deliver lessons across the primary curriculum, adapt teaching to meet different learning needs, and create a classroom environment where every child feels supported and included.

You’ll work closely with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupils’ progress, while becoming part of a school community that values collaboration, development, and great teaching.

Your Role Will Include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
• Creating a positive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn
• Assessing pupil progress and adapting lessons to support individual needs
• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
• Providing meaningful feedback to help pupils recognise their progress and next steps
• Supporting school events, meetings, and wider improvement initiatives
• Keeping accurate records of attainment, attendance, and behaviour
• Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the school community

What You’ll Need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised in England
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
• A degree in Education or a related subject is desirable
• Experience teaching within a primary school setting
• Experience planning and delivering lessons for children aged 5-11
• A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks
• Confident classroom management and organisational skills
• The ability to adapt teaching approaches to support different learning needs
• Excellent communication skills with pupils, families, and colleagues
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing

Experience That’s a Bonus:

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs or English as an additional language
• Recent CPD linked to primary education
• Experience working across KS1 or KS2

Working Conditions

This is a full-time teaching role based within a primary school in Croydon.

You’ll work standard school hours, with occasional involvement in meetings, training, or school events outside the classroom day. The role involves being actively engaged with pupils throughout the day, including standing, moving around the classroom, and supporting children’s learning in a busy school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
