Description

Contract: Permanent
Location: Milton Keynes / Northampton (covering Central England, Midlands, Banbury and Heathrow as required)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

About Us

Vision Survey was founded in 2007 with the ambition to become the UK's leading authority on permit to dig control. What began with humble beginnings has grown into a trusted surveying and consultancy business with over fifty dedicated staff members, proudly involved in major civil engineering projects including Tideway, HS2 and Hinkley Point.

As one of the leading survey companies in the UK, we are focused on improving the construction industry by embracing innovation and technology. We work with our clients to complete projects on time and safely. As part of the Celnor Group, we maintain a supportive environment where everyone can thrive, with our core values of Reflection, Excellence, Teamwork, and Integrity guiding everything we do.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Land & Engineering Surveyor to join our team based in the Milton Keynes / Northampton area. This is a varied role combining both land surveying and engineering surveying responsibilities, supporting a wide range of construction, infrastructure and monitoring projects across Central England, the Midlands and Heathrow.

The role is ideally suited to a surveyor who is confident delivering both topographical and engineering surveys, capable of working independently on site, and comfortable adapting to changing project requirements. You will play a key role in supporting our growing workload across the region while maintaining the high standards of quality and service our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake topographical, measured building and boundary surveys
  • Carry out engineering setting out, monitoring and as-built surveys on construction and infrastructure projects
  • Operate Leica total stations, GNSS equipment, digital levels and laser scanning technology
  • Ensure works are delivered accurately, safely and in accordance with project requirements
  • Process and manage survey data using software such as AutoCAD and N4CE
  • Interpret survey and engineering data to produce accurate drawings and deliverables
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Maintain survey records, quality assurance procedures and digital workflows
  • Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are upheld across all site activities
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Support technical problem solving and provide practical survey solutions on site
  • Represent Vision Survey professionally at all times

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience in both land surveying and engineering surveying, including setting out works and topographical surveys
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, mapping techniques and geospatial data
  • Experience using total stations, GNSS equipment, digital levels and modern survey technologies
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and N4CE software
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and delivering high-quality work
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the region and support projects at Heathrow when required

Salary and Benefits

We offer a salary of £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience and provide a comprehensive range of benefits including:

  • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 26 with service
  • Flexible working options post probation
  • Staff benefits package including discounts at retailers and gym memberships, and spa days
  • Pension Scheme
  • Health Insurance (Vitality), including cinema tickets, free coffee, and movie rental rewards, along with free subscription to Headspace and Free Virtual 24/7 GP Service
  • Life Insurance
  • Company Van and Fuel Card
  • Paid travel time over 1 hour journey
  • Referral Scheme of up to £1000
  • IT & Phone Package
  • Recognition scheme and Service Awards
  • Continuous on-the-job training and development, both in-house and through The Survey School (QCF) and CICES qualifications

Every project we undertake contributes to a safer, more sustainable built environment. Be part of a team making a tangible impact on the future of infrastructure, with a culture built on learning and innovation where your ideas and expertise will play a vital role in shaping outcomes.

To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter explaining why you're the right fit for this role.
