Job description
Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career; with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where will you be working?

At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future.

We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.

Private networks- We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.

Want to come and be a part of it?

As a PE specialising in RAMS, you will support the technical and safety delivery of National Grid services, focusing on OpTel and Tertiary sites.

A key responsibility is preparing RAMS (health and safety documentation), managing requests, and collaborating with M Group teams, including Programmes & Projects, Design, Account Management, and SHEQ, to ensure work is delivered safely.

What will you be doing?

Identify potential issues related to deployment of works, ensuring risks are considered early in planning

Conduct high-level peer reviews of PDDs, SIPs and WIs from Project Delivery and TDA/SDA to agree safe methodologies for Field Engineers

Create and distribute OpTel GEN3 site-specific CPPs, ensuring compliance with safety standards

Create and issue RAMS for all relevant activities, defining risks and control measures clearly

Collaborate with internal and external SHEQ teams to mitigate risks and maintain safety across all phases

Delivery (Existing & New Sites)

Provide engineering support for changes across OpTel and Tertiary sites, assist TDA/SDA with Proof of Concepts, define consumables, support deployment issues, complete surveys, create installation documents, monitor progress, conduct site visits, and produce As-Built records

Leadership

Build strong stakeholder relationships, identify improvements, lead meetings when required, support Project Managers, and ensure all work aligns with company quality procedures

What you’ll bring?

Essential:

Good all-round technical transmission knowledge, able to interpret TDA/SDA design documentation into safe work activities and mitigate risks in field engineering

Strong planning, prioritisation, time management and project coordination skills, with proven ability to manage multiple projects/changes to deadlines

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and operating procedures, with clear verbal and written communication, simplifying technical concepts for non-technical staff

Minimum five years’ telecoms/utilities engineering experience, including technical workstreams and production of RAMS

Must meet SC clearance criteria following BPSS screening

Desirable:

Desirable: customer-facing experience, equipment and cabling installation, and knowledge of telephony, legacy telecoms, and IP LAN/WAN
