Job description

Ready to inspire the next generation of digital thinkers?

If you're the kind of IT teacher who loves seeing students go from "I can't do this" to "I've built it myself", then we've got a classroom waiting for you.

We're working with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school looking for an enthusiastic IT Teacher to join their team this September. Whether you're an experienced teacher looking for a fresh challenge or an Early Career Teacher ready to kick-start your career, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach in a school where technology is valued, creativity is encouraged, and staff are genuinely supported to do what they do best, teach.

What you'll be doing

Every day is different, but you can expect to:

  • Deliver engaging IT and Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 opportunities available in some schools.
  • Inspire students to develop digital skills, computational thinking, and confidence with technology.
  • Teach topics including programming, cybersecurity, databases, networking, digital media, and emerging technologies.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that challenge and motivate learners of all abilities.
  • Assess progress, provide meaningful feedback, and celebrate achievement.
  • Create a classroom where curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving thrive.
  • Work closely with a supportive department and wider school community to continually improve learning.

We're looking for someone who

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching IT or Computer Science in a UK secondary school, or is an ECT ready to begin their teaching journey.
  • Has excellent subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for technology.
  • Builds positive relationships with students and colleagues alike.
  • Brings energy, creativity, and fresh ideas into the classroom.
  • Has strong classroom management skills and high expectations for learning.
  • Is committed to helping every student achieve their potential.

Why you'll love this school

You'll be joining a school where staff wellbeing matters just as much as student success. Expect:

  • A supportive senior leadership team that values collaboration.
  • Modern ICT facilities and well-equipped classrooms.
  • Excellent behaviour policies that allow you to focus on teaching.
  • Ongoing CPD and opportunities to develop your career.
  • A welcoming department where ideas are shared and successes are celebrated.

Why work with Protocol Education?

Finding the right school shouldn't feel harder than remembering yet another password.

That's where we come in.

At Protocol Education, we take the time to get to know you, what matters to you, and the kind of school where you'll thrive. From your first conversation to your first day in the classroom, we're with you every step of the way.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies.
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy.
  • Personalised support from a dedicated education consultant.
  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND and alternative provisions.
  • A quick and straightforward registration process.
  • Local opportunities matched to your preferences.
  • A referral scheme where you can earn rewards for recommending friends.
