Are you an experienced SENCO looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a thriving specialist setting? Do you have the knowledge, leadership skills and passion to ensure children with additional needs receive the highest quality education and support? This welcoming SEND school in Atherstone is looking to appoint a dedicated and ambitious SENCO to join its leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist school that supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and associated learning needs. The school is renowned for its exceptional facilities, specialist resources and welcoming culture, with a leadership team that is committed to supporting both pupils and staff to achieve their very best.

As SENCO, you will lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school, ensuring every pupil receives personalised support that enables them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with teachers, therapists, parents and external agencies, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of inclusive practice and ensuring EHCP provision is delivered effectively.

This role would suit an experienced SENCO looking for a fresh challenge or an aspiring SEND leader with the relevant qualifications and specialist knowledge.
The Role:
  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school

  • Monitor pupil progress and ensure personalised learning programmes are effective
  • Support teachers and support staff to deliver outstanding SEND practice
  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists and external professionals
  • Lead staff training and promote high-quality inclusive teaching
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and strategic planning
  • Ensure the school remains fully compliant with SEND legislation and best practice
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • The National Award for SEN Coordination (or be working towards it where appropriate)
  • Significant experience working within a SEND setting
  • Excellent knowledge of EHCPs, the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for improving outcomes for children with SEND
In Return You Will Receive:
  • A permanent leadership opportunity within a highly regarded SEND school
  • Outstanding facilities and access to specialist teaching resources
  • A supportive and experienced leadership team
  • Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression
  • A collaborative and welcoming staff team
  • The opportunity to shape and develop SEND provision across the school
  • A rewarding role where you can make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people
