Every Second Counts at Spark of Genius!

"We are a trauma responsive organisation, where every word, action and connection helps to build hope. By listening with compassion and communicating with care, we create homes where children feel loved, safe, valued and empowered to heal and thrive."

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people?
Do you have life skills, hobbies and interests you can teach our young people?

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Therapeutic Residential Childcare Worker.

Your values matter to us.
We believe that the right values are just as important as experience. If you are kind, patient, fun, honest, respectful, and committed to helping children and young people thrive, we can provide the training and support to help you succeed in a therapeutic childcare role.

You will provide consistent, nurturing, and therapeutic care to children and young people who have experienced trauma and adversity. You will build trusting relationships, support young people to achieve positive outcomes, and work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.

What You’ll Do

As a Children's Residential Support Worker you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.

  • Provide therapeutic, trauma-informed care and support to children and young people.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote safety, stability, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support young people with their daily routines, education, health appointments, and social activities.
  • Promote independence, life skills, and positive behaviour through therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and reflective practice sessions.

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
