Health Economist Lead

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Health Economist Lead to join our Evaluation and Insights team.

This is an outstanding opportunity to make a tangible impact on health and healthcare by leading health economic evaluations across a range of high-profile innovation programmes. You will help assess the value and impact of innovative interventions including digital health solutions medical technologies and large-scale transformation initiatives.

Working closely with colleagues across UCLPartners and our extensive partner network you will provide robust evidence that informs decision-making supports adoption of innovation and demonstrates the value generated across health and care systems.



What Youll Do

As Health Economist Lead you will:

Lead and support programme evaluations to understand their health economic impact.

Design and develop transparent and user-friendly economic models including budget impact and cost-effectiveness models.

Analyse and synthesise data from health and social care datasets and other real-world evidence sources.

Support the development of logic models and evaluation frameworks using mixed-method approaches.

Conduct and commission evidence reviews rapid evidence syntheses and health economic analyses.

Provide expert interpretation and advice on health economic evidence to internal and external stakeholders.

Disseminate findings through reports presentations conferences and academic publications.

Identify opportunities for grant funding evaluation commissions and collaborative research.

Contribute to capability-building in health economics and evaluation across UCLPartners and partner organisations.



About You

You will be a skilled health economist with experience of applying economic evaluation methods within healthcare research innovation or related environments.

You will bring:

Essential Experience and Knowledge

Experience delivering successful health economic evaluations and analytical projects.

Expertise in health economic modelling including cost-effectiveness analysis budget impact analysis cost-benefit analysis Markov models and decision trees.

Experience using analytical software such as R Excel Stata and/or TreeAge.

Understanding of health technology assessment and evidence synthesis methodologies.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing and presentation of findings to diverse audiences.

Experience working with NHS organisations academic institutions or innovation partners.

Experience managing projects coordinating workstreams and engaging stakeholders across complex systems.

Please note:UCLPartnersoperates in a dynamic environment. We use a matrix management approach to match skillsexpertiseand capacity to projects. Line management may change from time to time.The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the organisation and undertakeadditionalduties projects and/or responsibilities that arereasonably required which arecommensuratewith the nature and grading of the role.

We offer flexible working arrangements and support hybrid working at UCLPartners. All staff will typically spend a minimum of 40% of their working time at the UCLPartners office i.e. for a minimum of 2 days/week if full-time or 40% of your working time for part-time staff. This can be averaged over a 3-month period.


As part of our benefits package employees are entitled to 27 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays) company pension (employer contribution 10% of annual salary) life assurance coverage cycle to work scheme travel season ticket loans and flexible working.
