Band 6 Occupational Therapist
Trust: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Warneford Hospital, OX3 7JX
Team: City AMHT Oak Team
Pay Rate: £24.61 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 09:00 17:00

About the Role
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the City AMHT Oak Team based at Warneford Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred mental health care within the community. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting recovery, independence, and wellbeing through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and personalised care planning.

The role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while contributing to the wider multidisciplinary team, supporting service users with complex mental health needs across a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously as an active member of the multidisciplinary team, undertaking specialist assessments in collaboration with service users and their families/carers.
  • Develop, implement, and review person-centred treatment plans that promote safety, recovery, independence, and community inclusion.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions in line with NICE guidelines to support recovery and relapse prevention.
  • Build effective therapeutic relationships with service users, carers, and partner agencies to ensure coordinated care delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, adapting interventions and care plans as appropriate to meet changing needs.
  • Support service users in completing clinical outcome measures and contribute to ongoing risk assessment and management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.

Essential Requirements
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Previous experience working within mental health services or community-based settings.
  • Sound knowledge of evidence-based mental health interventions and recovery-focused practice.
  • Strong understanding of medications, including administration, side effects, and ongoing management.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and clinical reasoning skills.

  • Relevant professional qualifications.
  • Current registration with the appropriate professional body.

  • Current HCPC registration.
