The Company
Founded in 2001 by Executive Chairman John Williams Maritime Transport has evolved from small beginnings into a leading logistics company with a turnover exceeding 400m.
To date the company employs 3300 people across 40 sites including a network of strategic rail freight terminals with a cutting-edge fleet of 1300 Euro-6 trucks and over 50 container handlers servicing a number of trains daily. Maritime has a proven track record as an intermodal operator developing and delivering low carbon container logistics solutions for first and final miles and pioneering the modal shift of UK domestic distribution from road to rail.
In 2024 the company was acquired by Swiss-based global logistics and supply chain provider MEDLOG S.A. supporting Maritimes growth strategy and strengthening its market position as the UKs leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics.
