Senior Specialist Legal Editor, PL Finance (Global)

We are seeking an experienced Finance lawyer to join the Practical Law Global team in the UK.

Practical Law is a leading online know-how service providing expert-created practical maintained content to help legal professionals work smarter and advise with confidence. About The Role

As a Senior Specialist Legal Editor in Practical Law you will use your specialist legal knowledge of and experience in Finance law and practice to create and maintain a wide range of content and to support the development of Thomson Reuters AI-powered legal solutions. Working in a supportive team of highly experienced colleagues you will deal with a breadth of interesting work.

Major responsibilities/accountabilities

• Research write and maintain clear current and practical legal content aligned with market practice and customer needs and business objectives.
• Review and edit content written by others whether by colleagues or external expert contributors.
• Keep up to date with legal practice and market developments to ensure content remains accurate relevant and aligned with business objectives.
• Use your legal expertise to support the development of customer-focused Thomson Reuters AI-powered legal solutions.
• Use your legal expertise and editorial skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools.
• Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and industry groups to ensure content reflects current market practice.
• Use your specialist legal knowledge to assist the wider Thomson Reuters team working with product management sales marketing and technology functions where necessary.

About You

Youre a fit for the role if you are a UK qualified solicitor barrister or legal executive and have:

• Substantial post-qualification experience of Finance law in the UK in particular cross-border:
  • Lending and Security
  • Leveraged Finance
• Some knowledge of Fund finance/ Capital Markets/Derivatives would be desirable.
• Strong writing skills and a passion for writing about legal practice accurately concisely and in plain English.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively independently and in teams.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilise various tools including generative AI technologies to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies.
