Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Audiologist in Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust to join the Audiology Department at Princess Alexandra Hospital. You will be responsible for providing specialist audiology services to adults and children with hearing difficulties, undertaking comprehensive diagnostic assessments where highly accurate results are essential for effective patient care. Working across a variety of clinical settings, you will manage complex caseloads, support patients, families, and carers throughout their care journey, and deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs. You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with services including Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Speech and Language Therapy, Central Appointments, and other Audiology departments to ensure coordinated patient care. Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Audiologist, you will be responsible for conducting otoscopic examinations to evaluate the condition of the ear canal and tympanic membrane, identifying abnormalities or contraindications and ensuring appropriate onward referral where required. You will manage a variety of technical assessment procedures, including Pure Tone Audiometry, Acoustic Admittance and Reflex Measurements, Speech Audiometry, and Oto-Acoustic Emissions testing, ensuring accurate data collection and interpretation to support clinical outcomes. You will also be responsible for taking precise aural impressions for the manufacture of ear moulds and custom hearing protection, maintaining high standards of accuracy, patient safety, and professional practice while supporting the effective delivery of specialist audiology services.
