Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Mammographer in West Hertfordshire NHS Trust to join the Radiology Department at Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with the Lead Breast Consultant, Radiology Breast Consultants, and the Radiology Management Team to provide leadership, management, and support to the breast imaging team. You will manage and support both clinical and non-clinical colleagues to deliver a high-quality, patient-focused service, ensuring the best possible experience for patients while meeting key performance standards and targets. You will play a vital role in driving service improvement, maintaining efficient and cost-effective service delivery within budget, and fostering strong engagement across multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will also provide support to the wider Radiography Department across both hospital sites, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective, and continuously improving imaging services.

Main duties of the job
As an Advanced Mammographer, you will be responsible for deputising for the Site Lead Radiographer in their absence, overseeing operational activities and ensuring continuity of service delivery. You will support departmental governance, contribute to decision-making as part of the senior team, and assist in the coordination of imaging services across the Trust. You will participate in the planning and implementation of service developments, providing professional input to help shape future service provision.
