Job Summary
Are you compassionate, caring and communicative? Would you like to work at one of the Countries leading teaching hospitals? If so, NHS Professionals are currently recruiting for Registered Mental Health Nurses to work at Southampton General Hospital to join the bank. As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will be promoting and supporting a persons recovery. We have flexible bank shifts, long term placements for Band 5 Mental Health Nurses available at University Hospital Southampton. University Hospital Southampton has a rich tradition of developing Nursing and Midwifery practice, and of delivering excellence in patient care. Whilst proud of their heritage, their focus is the future, and central to this vision is providing evidence and value-based individualised care to the people supported. We are looking for high calibre individuals with good interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate should relish the challenge of a fast paced and exciting environment whilst wanting to deliver the highest standard of care. Excellent transport links mean their location is commutable from Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, New Forest, Bournemouth.

Please Note: We are only looking for RMN who can work MONDAY-FRIDAY DAY SHIFTS - NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS AVAILABLE

Main duties of the job
Your main duties could include:
  • Assessing and planning nursing care requirements
  • Building relationships with, reassuring, and listening to and talking to patients
  • Combating stigma and helping patients and their families manage it
  • Administering medication
  • Supporting the patient with everyday tasks including personal care

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Essential
  • Please be aware we currently are only looking for MH nurses who can work MONDAY-FRIDAY DAYS. We have no demand for nights or weekends
  • Must hold Valid PMVA Certificate
  • To apply for this post, you must have at least 6 months experience as a Mental Health Registered Nurse (or equivalent position) in a mental health hospital or Prison setting within the last 2 years. Along with the skills to carry out basic clinical observations. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications without the required experience.
  • Hold a MH Nursing Degree and have valid NMC registration
