Job description

Are you an experienced compliance-focused health and safety professional who wants to make a visible difference to peoples homessafetyand wellbeing This isa great opportunityto lead a critical compliance function in a values-led housing association with a strong focus on statutoryregulatoryand contractual compliance across our homes and property servicesas well as health and safety.

Youllstrengthen how we manage property compliance riskassuranceand contractor performance while supporting safe working practices and embedding a positivepracticaland Customer-focused health and safety culture aligned with the Hundred Houses Way.

About the role

As Health Safety and Compliance Manager your main priority will be leading and strengthening our property compliance arrangements. Most of the role focuses on meeting statutoryregulatoryand contractual responsibilities across areas including gas electrical safety fire risk water hygiene asbestos lifting equipment building safety and DampMouldand Condensation.

This is a compliance-led leadership role with scope to improve how we plan delivermonitorand evidence compliance programmes budgetscontractorsand performance reporting whileprovidingclear adviceaccuratedataand practical support wider organisational health and safety develop direct reports strengthen digital records and systems and promote a positive safety culture.

Youllhave the autonomy to lead improvements influence colleagues and contractors and turn legal and regulatory requirements into practical services that make a difference for Customers and Employees.

Whatyoullbe doing

  • Leadtheproperty compliancefunction as the main priority of the role overseeingkey areas including gas electrical safety fire risk water hygiene asbestos lifting equipment building safety and wider statutory compliance ensuring legal duties are met assurance is robustand risks are well managed.

  • Provide clear leadership to the compliance team and work collaboratively across Property Services and the wider Society toembed consistent compliance practice andsupport a positive practical health and safety culture.

  • Manage contractor performance quality standardsbudgetsand value for money ensuring services are delivered safely efficiently and to agreed expectations.

  • Produceaccuratecompliance KPI risk and performance reporting for senior leaders and governance forums using data toidentifyissues explain trends evidenceassuranceand drive improvement.

  • Maintain clear policiesrecordsand digital compliance systems including building safety information and DampMouldand Condensation arrangements solegal compliance audit trails andassurancearerobust andup to date.

About you

Werelooking for someone with strongproperty complianceexpertise soundjudgementand a practical people-focused confident working in a regulated or compliance-led environmentand able to turn complexstatutoryregulatoryand contractualrequirements into clear actions reliableassuranceandmeaningfulservice improvements.

Youllbring:

  • A recognised health and safety qualification or equivalent training and experience (NEBOSH National General Certificate IOSH Level 3 or equivalent would be desirable).

  • Strong experienceof property compliancecompliance servicingandinspection programmes performancereportingand customer-facing services in a regulated environment.

  • A strong understanding of landlord compliance responsibilitiesand the ability toevidenceassurance ideally gained in social housing propertyservicesor a similar setting.

  • The ability to lead with confidence motivate and developemployees manage competingprioritiesand influence colleaguescontractorsand stakeholders in a constructive and collaborative way.

  • Strong analyticaldigitaland reporting skills including the ability to use compliance systems Microsoft365and Excel to manage data budgetsrisksand performance accurately and securely.

  • Personal integrity accountability and a clear commitment to inclusion wellbeing customer care continuousimprovementand safe high-quality homes.
