Help young people thrive every day

We're looking for a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team and make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people aged 7–19 with Autism and associated communication and social needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping our therapy provision while delivering meaningful, student-centred interventions that support independence, confidence and participation in everyday life.

About the School

Based in Pilning, South Gloucestershire, we are a specialist school supporting pupils from Key Stage 2 through to Post-16. Our therapeutic approach is embedded throughout the school, enabling every student to access learning in a way that works for them and celebrate their individual strengths.

The Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you'll work as part of our experienced multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and deliver high-quality therapeutic support for children and young people with complex needs, including Autism, sensory processing differences and attachment needs.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how Occupational Therapy is delivered across the school, working collaboratively with education and therapy colleagues to ensure students receive the right support at the right time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing students' occupational performance and identifying individual needs.
  • Planning and delivering evidence-based interventions that support students to achieve their EHCP outcomes.
  • Managing your own clinical caseload within a specialist educational setting.
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCo and school leaders to embed Occupational Therapy strategies throughout the school day.
  • Developing resources and delivering training to staff to promote best practice.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the Occupational Therapy service.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with HCPC and RCOT professional standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.

You'll have:

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • A commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience working with children or young people with complex needs, including Autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Strong assessment, communication and clinical reasoning skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people develop the skills they need to flourish.

Why Join Us?

Working with us means becoming part of a supportive team where your expertise is valued and your contribution makes a real difference every day. You'll have the opportunity to develop your career within a specialist setting while helping children and young people achieve greater independence, confidence and success both in school and beyond.
